finding inner peace

a quote from one of my favourite films, clueless

The journey towards inner peace is one which I realise does not follow a straight path. There are twists and turns, and sometimes you may go backwards before you can progress forward. It brings me comfort to know that, for every difficult period I encounter, invaluable lessons will be learnt from it. I know it's easy to forget to rationalise in the midst of chaos, so for my own reference thought it might be useful to condense my ideas, and hopefully help somebody else in doing so.

1. Listen to your feelings. How would I describe my feelings? What triggered them?

2. Understand your worries. Is there anything I am worried about? Why am I worried about it?

3. Consider your needs. Can I resolve this alone? If not, who can I talk to to help me?

4. Do something relaxing. Have I self-indulged recently? Am I in need of some TLC?

5. Reflect. Was this the best way to handle the situation? What could I have done differently?

Of course, this is just a small pocket of wisdom and I am by no means an expert. There are, however, so many wonderful and knowledgeable people out there sharing support through websites, apps and social media.
